Is the cable network compatible with the Ultimate Setup table?
In fact, for ideal desk cable management, we recommend combining the cable tray with the Ultimate Setup desk and not the cable net. Due to the design of the table frame, the cable net cannot be optimally placed on the back of the table top behind the crossbar (bar that connects both table legs) of the table frame. The net must be placed in front of the crossbar/connecting rod of the frame. However, this makes cable routing from the rear of the desk more difficult. Furthermore, there are no pre-drilled holes for the net on the back of the Ultimate Setup table tops. There are already pre-drilled holes for the cable tray in the ideal places.
Cable net, cable tray or cable duct? What makes the most sense?
If you are purchasing an Ultimate Setup table, we recommend the Ultimate Setup cable tray. This has been specially designed for the Ultimate Setup table and the appropriate pre-drilled holes are already provided on the back of the table top. The cable tray also has a higher load-bearing capacity than the cable net. However, if you already have a desk and only want to store 1-2 multiple sockets including cables and accessories, then the cable net and cable duct are ideal.
How hard-wearing or stretchable is the net?
The net has an extremely high elasticity. Of the more than 20,000 satisfied customers, we are not aware of any cases where the net has torn (after correct installation).
Is the cable network compatible with every desk?
The cable net is compatible with any desk that has a tabletop thickness of at least 1.5 cm and is made of MDF or wood. Unfortunately, it is not possible to mount the cable net on glass or stone table tops, as the anchor-shaped brackets of the cable net must be screwed under the table top and cannot be glued.

I have installed the cable net from Ultimate Setup in combination with a 60 mm cable grommet for my desk - and I have to say: of all the solutions for stowing cables neatly and almost invisibly under the desk, this is my favourite so far.

Of course, assembly is easiest when the table top is not yet attached to the frame - then you can work comfortably from above. In my case, however, the table was already fully assembled and I honestly didn't feel like dismantling everything again. So I assembled the whole thing overhead. The biggest challenge was to fix the template straight using Sellotape - but once that was done, the rest went really quickly. The drill works well and the brackets are bombproof with the screws provided.
There is a surprising amount of space in the net itself. I first wired everything outside the net, then simply undid one of the straps in the centre and packed all the cabling inside. You don't have to sort anything out artfully - the net is elastic and adapts to the contents. Absolutely nothing is visible from the outside. And if new devices are added later, the net can simply be opened again and extended - super practical!
In my opinion, this is a much more elegant and easier-to-use solution than many metal mounts, where you often have to "lay" the cables in a complex way to make it look neat. Sure - the mess doesn't disappear completely, but it's made invisible, and that's quite enough for me.
Conclusion: 5/5 stars from me.
Even if 21 euros for a net with a few plastic parts seems a bit much at first - it is a one-off investment that is absolutely worth it. Perhaps it would be an idea to offer a basic set (just the net, brackets and template), as many people already have the rest at home anyway. But that's just a small suggestion for improvement.
